On this page you will find instructions for the different possibilities of studying Climate University course materials.
Open Access materials
Climate University Open Access materials on the DigiCampus platform are available for all and free to study anytime and anywhere. You can study the open-access at your own pace. Note that you cannot earn ECTS by studying the Open Access materials. You find the links to the course areas on the DigiCampus platform under each individual course on our website.
Earning study credits (ECTS)
If you wish to get study points (ECTS) you must register for a course organized by a Higher Education Institution (HEI). Climate University courses are currently provided by several HEIs in Finland. You can find the course codes under each course listed on our website. Most courses are also available via open university.
Study a course arranged by a partner HEI
Cross-studying Climate University courses at another HEI than your home institution is possible if the HEI organising the course offers this possibility. As a student of a HEI of the the Climate University network partners you can register for cross-studies at another HEI in your own study information system.
Open University
You are not a degree student at a Finnish HEI of the Climate University network? No problem – many of the Climate University HEIs have their courses accessible to a wider audience through the open universities of the institutions. Note that not all Climate University courses are offered through open universities, and open university courses are usually subject to a fee.
For international students
Currently, open universities in Finland can only recognize students with Finnish ID or who can come to Finland to be identified. We are working on different collaboration methods to solve the issue. Meanwhile, you are welcome to study the open access materials at your own pace.
For teachers
Climate University materials are free to use in your teaching. If you want to order a course area for your course or join the Climate University teacher network, please leave a message here. Our network supports teachers by organizing teacher meetings to share the best practices from the courses and to discuss future development steps.
